Marathon Training Week 4

My training program started 3 weeks ago but I didn't make it until week four. I almost didn't make it actually. I put Starvine St in but was take to Starfine St (a residential neighborhood). If you know me I freak out when i'm lost. I want to cry! Haha I looked at my watch and realized I had been driving in circles for awhile so I called the Bird who is also partaking in the training program. Soon as she answered I knew she was still in bed and felt pretty bad. Luckily, shes a champ and gave me the "correct address" and I made it to the training with just minutes to spare.
I started out with the slower group as I always do. I felt pretty strong and kind of bounced from person to person saying hello. During my last training program I made a friend and ran with her every week. Although it was wonderful. I think I would have pushed myself more if I was alone. After about 3 miles I felt good and I left the safety of the slower group. I wasn't much farther ahead but I was ahead. One of my habits I am trying to break is taking walks. I take them for no reason. I take them because I feel like them. Well on this run I didn't stop except at a stop light and at the very top of a hill where I was winded. Although it was a minor victory, it was a victory for me. My first ten mile run without any major walking. Hip hip hooray!
One thing I learned during the training was I don't like people telling me "good job" "looking strong" etc. Actually during a out and back someone yelled "slow and steady" at me when I was going up a hill. I wanted to punch him. haha This is not my first rodeo! I wasn't dying! (despite what I looked like) But I was and could easily run this route. (just not a 10 minute pace). Don't get me wrong I love hearing support during a race from none racers, but for some reason it irks me when speedys say it to me. Just nod and smile. That'll do it! haha.
Ok, so I felt pretty good during the run. There was one hill I did look up at and think to myself now why the hell did they go and do that?  I slowly made my way to the top and enjoyed the ride down.
After the race I was soaking wet, despite taking a salt stick my skin was completely salty. I went home and dang it, I chaffed something I never really do. I suppose soaking wet clothes rubbing on you for ten miles had something to do with it? Next time, I will be sure to rub on some body glide.
"Do you run with the pack, run solo, or bounce from group to group?"
"Do you like people cheering for you?"
"How do you handle the heat?"
