Trail Runs

I can't believe I'm going to say it but I am starting to like trail runs.
It just happened.
For no reason.
I just like them now.
Shrugs.

It all started about 2 weeks ago when I went with The Bird to Clinton for a 9 mile run. Of course I was miserable and out of breath the first few miles then it became enjoyable.

I went again a few days later and did 6 miles with my husband, being more acquainted with the grounds I jogged faster and hopped over roots like a pro.
I felt great after this run.

Its such a big change from a few months ago or even a year ago where I literally stopped and turned around after 2 miles, yes 2 miles.

But now here I am taking in every moment both miserable and zen.

I mean how can you not like trails when you get to run by things like this...

Beauty.

My advise for newbies on trails:
 Yeah, trails suck at first!
You will want to die!
You will almost break your ankle at least 5 times.

But with natural condiditioning from the trails, persistence and familiarity the trails will be become your play ground.

Promise.
It takes time but before your know it you will be one of those runners...sprinting through the woods like a sparking vampire.
