I did it. On October 14th I ran 10 freakin miles by myself (well, mostly by myself.) Uh, can I get an amen? I started my run with my husband who ran 2 miles with me (remember hes not a runner) after 2 he tapered off and started walking. I kept going on. It was an awesome fall day, there must have been a race else where because Team Spandex were few so I was able to just zone out without hearing TO YOUR LEFT.
The run was perfect. I guzzled my water bottle down and it was empty by mile 5. Right around 5.5 miles I felt a-mazing. Like all the stress and tension in my body disappeared. It was truly amazing. I felt soooo good. Its one of those moments that makes all the shin splints and cramps totally worth it.
Around mile 8 my legs started getting tight. They didn't hurt. But they were sure tight. I pushed through. Honestly, my goal for that day was to run ten miles and I was so giddy by the idea of hitting double digits I just ran through it.
I ended up running a 10:30 pace. Mind you, this is a FLAT course. Flat or not though I did it.
I ran ten miles .

See that face up there, yeah that's the face of one ridiculously happy girl. Cheesy? Probably to a lot of people but for me a big ol' milestone.
I am so proud of you and am glad we have become friends! Remember that extra mileage gets easier and easier every time!
