Truth. After running in the rain for over 5.5 hours during my first marathon my body quivers at the thought of rain. Heat, snow, grey skies don't bother me. But rain is my greatest fear...
I decided to put on my big girl panties and just go. You see in training programs you build your base up every week and missing a run and knowing that number only goes up the next week is something I don't want to do.
When I left from home it was merely misty out, something I can deal with.
Prior to our deployment from the store we were told to use our spider-senses and to turn around if we thought it was going to get bad.
We made it exactly two miles before someone else's spider-senses kicked in or they just saw the weather channel. Whichever it was Harley got a text about a massive red storm cell heading our way.
We looked at each other and decided to turn back. We waived others down that were behind us but most kept going. And then the rain hit.
A minute later Harley's wife (bless her) called to let us know we were under a tornado warning.
Yippee...
Yah, know the tornado thing didn't bother me. but the rain did.
Just as he got off the phone with her it really came down.
In a matter of minutes the street's drains were flowing and as we were running.
We were not even a half a mile away from safety when I saw a car and the river that formed from the rain...
That fear of rain hit...
Harley said he just heard (me) scream and then a tidal wave of water consumed us, literally.

We didn't get our 12 miles in but my heart rate sure did go up.
Water, lots of it
How is your training going?
Do you run rain or shine?
You're a better person than me, I would've punked out!
